Detailed Information:
What started as an ordinary parkland preservation effort in 1993 has run into entrenched, wealthy opposition from neighbors. The results have been an epic struggle including a massive vote fraud scandal that should send a number of prominent park opponents to jail. All park opponents have been flushed from Petaluma city government, and the same could occur at the county level as well. The effort to open Lafferty to public access continues, however, and this website was created as an informational and organization resource for local activists and community members. It should be of interest to others involved in similar regional issues, as well.
