Detailed Information:
'Enviro-Wise on the Net', is the extension of my concern to communicate and encourage dialgue on environmental issues. Apart from my interest in the role of Internet technologies in enviro education, I have been thinking of ways in which to make technology more accessible for environmental communication -- hencemy interest in the role of community radio as an interface between print and other electronic technologies. On this site you can find extracts of the radio programmes interviews, field recordings, phone-ins etc. on a range of environmental issues. The programme itself is still in its infancy and so is the web site -- but as time moves on, more intersting resources will be included, such as video material of enviro excursions arranged by the radio station. I'm currently planning the launch of an enviro club for the listerns of the programme, so the site will be filled with interactive content (forums, displays of club activities etc.). All this is driven by my view of extending the task of radio beyond mere 'distant talk' and to consider ways in which the Internet and radio could work hand in hand for sustainable living.*** Radio 786 : a local medium*** Internet : a globalmedium"THINK GLOBALLY ...
