Tri-State Citizens Mining Network

The Tri-State Citizens Mining Network coordinates a group of organizations and individuals dedicated to informing and educating the public about the effects of mining on the environment and on the communities in the coalfields. By working to improve laws, regulations, and enforcement, the Network seeks protection of the environment and justice for coalfield citizens.

Tri-State operates in southwestern Pennsylvania, southeastern Ohio and northern West Virginia. We are a network of community-based grassroots groups. We provide educational and organizing services to communities that are or will be affected by coal mining. By educating the communities, the residents are empowered to seek the rights they have under the law and to protect their quality of life.
